I was in church when I was only a few days old. My father was the music minister of the church and my mother was a Sunday School teacher in the children’s department. So I grew up in church. When I was 9 years old I made a public profession of faith in Jesus Christ. The problem was, I didn’t know why. I knew that all of my friends were getting baptized so it must be what I needed to do. Seven years later, I came to the full knowledge of my sinful condition and my need of salvation through the blood work of Jesus Christ. So at 16, I committed my life to Jesus. This time I knew why.

At age 18, I felt the call into the ministry. I felt God calling me into the Children’s ministry. So I served faithfully at my home church while going to college. I was not a good student so I went back home and bounced between school and work until I went into the US Army at age 23. In 1996 I left the military and returned to Houston permanently. From 1996 to 1999 I served as a Children’s and Music Minister. I came to Autumn Creek in response to a call to be Children’s Minister and have served this wonderful, loving church family ever since.

This is my 4th church to be on staff with and each one has been incredibly rewarding and “faith enhancing”. The difference between ACBC and the others has been being a part of a family and not just meeting with church friends. I have been in the ministry since 1991, mostly in Children’s Ministry and every church has it’s challenges and benefits. But ACBC brings more.

There is a different kind of love here. The way people treat each other is different. People truly care for each other, not just in word, but in deed as well. I have seen this in other churches, but not to this level. While serving at ACBC, I have grown more than any other time in my Christian life. We grow in faith, grow in the word and grow in love everyday. Not everyone can say that. When we say we want you to be a part of the Autumn Creek “Family”…we mean it!
